HEAD, DEVELOPMENT UNIT

 The Head, Development Unit spearheads the establishment of relationships with both Individual and Corporate stakeholders. He guides members of staff in the unit to reach out to all university‚Äôs constituencies towards supporting programmes and activities that seek to facilitate the overall mission of the Institution. The unit executes a comprehensive stewardship programmes through working directly with academic departments and identified academic champions.

He reports directly to the Director on all activities and programmes relating to the unit. He supervises the two programme Officers in charge of Corporate and Individual giving respectively.

The roles of the Head, Development Unit are:

 

  • Maintain an active portfolio of at least 500 to 1,000 prospective alumni.
  • Ensures that a good number of the prospective alumni on the active portfolio are identified, cultivated and solicited to giving to the institution.
  • Increase the pool of gift prospects by identifying new alumni, corporations and individual prospects.
  • Prepare all proposals and solicitation materials with other units of the Directorate as required.
  • Develop cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Develop an annual giving plan to reach all constituencies and work closely with academic staff members to implement the plan.
  • Coordinate an annual stewardship plan for gift clubs and scholarship donors, and work closely with relevant academic staff members to implement the plan.
  • Coordinate all mailings of materials through close working with the Advancement Services Unit.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director.
