As part of the culture of giving back to the University, the Soccer Alumni Members, who played football in their undergraduate days, have donated sports equipment to the Institution.

The graduates, under the platform of the Ahmadu Bello University Soccer Alumni, converged at the Sports Complex of the Samaru Main Campus of the University at the weekend where they held the Seventh Edition of their Reunion Football Friendly Match, shortly after the presentation of the equipment to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Garba.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Director of University Advancement, Professor Ahmed Adamu, thanked the ABU Soccer Alumni for their vision in fishing out sportsmen/women who made the University proud in their days as undergraduate players. The Vice Chancellor also promised to support the Soccer Alumni in anyway they wanted in their drive to revive the lost glories of sports activities of the University.

In his remark, the Secretary of the Soccer Alumni, Alhaji Mustapha Mubdiu, said the objectives of the association was basically to instill love and foster the spirit of brotherhood amongst the past players and also encourage them to support the University in any way that could move her forward.

According to him, other objectives of the Alumni Soccer were to develop strategies for developing football, scout for sports talents and support them to join the University and play, to make her great once again.
