UPDATE : 3+2 JOINT DEGREE PROGRAMME

Students Return to Nigeria Upon Completion of Study

The students flown to China in 2018 as the pioneer phase of the 3+2 joint double degree programme to study railway engineering at Central South University in Changsha, China (CSU) have returned to Nigeria after a successful completion of their studies. They were brought back on the 23rd of July, 2020 on board Air Peace, which landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja with strict compliance to the COVID- 19 protocols.

You would also recall that twenty out of the forty-five students have been offered scholarships to study for their Master Degree full time with the Central South University Changsha China.

VIRTUAL COMMISSIONING OF THE NITDA IT HUB

The Honorable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim on the 23rd of July, 2020 has commissioned the NITDA IT Hub constructed at Phase II of the Ahmadu Bello University main campus, Samaru, which was amongst the 6 Digital Economy Projects that were commissioned on Thursday, 23rd July, 2020.

The IT Hub is a platform where Technology, Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship are nurtured by building pools of both native and evolving talent and footloose IT professionals. Owing to the lack of adequate skilled manpower needed to drive local content development and industrialization in the country, the hub was put in place to diversify learning frontiers by translating classroom knowledge to solving day to day problems.

TETFUND TO HELP ABU COMPLETE 1,000 SEATER CAPACITY MULTIPURPOSE HALL

The Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFund), Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro , has promised the University Management that TETFund will help to provide the funds for the completion its 8-year old abandoned Iconic 1000 Seat Capacity Multipurpose Hall located at the Samaru Main Campus. The Executive Secretary who visited the campus briefly on an official assignment expressed his excitement on the structural quality of the building and therefore, assured the Vice Chancellor of the support of TETFund to ensure the completion of the building.

One of the prerogatives of the Vice Chancellor of the University is to create and maintain networks that help in creating newer relationships for the University which are pertinent to the development of its institutional growth through linkages, networks and interactions that. The new Vice Chancellor in person of Professor Kabir Bala has taken the past few weeks to visit some of the key Alumni of the University and other relevant organizations, ministries and stakeholders.

During his visits, he has been able secure pledges, ensure continuance in some of the supports that the Alumni and other wellwishers of the University have been giving for some years now. Some of the parastatals that he has visited, includes;
